Prepping for Publication

Magic library full of medieval and old scrolls

Today, we work on back-matter / blurb info for EMINENT VICTIM, Vol.II of THE GREY CHRONICLES series. The manuscript rests within the almighty – and critical – hands of our cherished editor, Hobie, who is finishing up his review. Here, in the dungeons of the Never, we must confront publication necessities. 13 October 2021 lurks closer than we thought – novel deets and the Newsletter, “Missives from the Never,” needs be completed.

So where, o! where, has our attention been focused? Life matters – personal stuff the Author must deal with, which places writing CREATING dreaming on hold. (Methinks we should add in a touch of procrastination, as well. Summarizing a whole novel in roughly 300-words is tough.)

Reminders:

Author-Character Interviews… Because I miss “hanging out” with the curious ones, I’ve invited a few of them to my study for brief interviews. Inspiration photos posted for all characters and the manor proper, and interviews for Seymour, Numan, and Damian exist. I’m eager to summon Iris and Tycho, but I don’t want to give too many spoilers, so… look for them in October.

Upcoming Novel Release… Follow our Author Page on Amazon for pre-order opportunities. EMINENT VICTIM, Vol.II of THE GREY CHRONICLES series drops on 13 October 2021. The second novel comes from Iris’s perspective, taking place at the end of Vol.I, to reveal her side of the story. Do you wonder about Anton’s fate? Or, question how Tycho reacted to Loki’s possession? Maybe, you’re concerned about the curious ones OR interested in the Celtic deities? Vol.II provides some answers, while others are addressed in Vol.III. Order your copy soon and follow Iris’s adventures to the Isle of Fey.

Ghost Story Recommendations… This time of year, I love a good spooky / gothic read. Care to share your favorites? Given the choice, I prefer reading a real, physical book (she likes to write notes in the margins) BUT some stories are fun to listen to, especially if a recording includes VOA and sound effects. I found a playlist of “Victorian Ghost Stories” to listen to while driving. Below, the first story on the queue, “The Phantom Coach: A Ghost Story” by Amelia B. Edwards, read by Simon Stanhope for Bitesized Audio.

Until next week…may your autumn begin brisk & leaves change slowly. Best…theAuthor
